When it comes to sound, I can be incredibly picky. Like most audiophiles, I have very specific wants and needs before I declare a pair of headphones a viable option. For this reason, most earbuds fail to meet my demands. I’ve had a few passable ones but rarely do I pull a pair of wireless earbuds out of my metaphorical stockings.

That is until I tried Denon Pearl Pro.

Now, before I continue, know that these are premium earbuds for $349 on Amazon. But if high-quality sound is what you’re looking for in an earphone, and you have the money for it, these babies are hard to beat. I’d go so far as to say it rivals the wired over-ear headphones I use, the V-Moda Crossfade 3.

Denon Pearl Pro

These earbuds are the best in their class and can be had for $349 on Amazon.

When I received the Denon PerL Pro earbuds, I was skeptical. I’ve gone through many pairs of earbuds (none of which end up on my “headphone swap list”), and I tend to ignore them all in favor of my favorites (unless I’m exercising, at which point I opt for the Mojawa Run Plus bone conduction headphones).

All this is changing now.

No, I wouldn’t use the Denon PerL Pro earbuds for working out because those things are too expensive and too good for sweating. But when I want to hear accurate, rich, and elegant sound on the go, these earbuds are exactly what I want.

For those who like a good list of specifications, here it is:

  • Bluetooth calls with CD-level clarity, thanks to Qualcomm AptX Lossless.
  • Eight microphones.

As with every pair of earbuds, fit is crucial. You want to get the best seal possible using ear tips. I’ve always found foam ear tips to be much better but have a much shorter lifespan. Silicone tips may not create the best seal, but they will last significantly longer.

My experience

I always judge my earbuds (and headphones) without using any sound customization app. I want to hear the music exactly using the manufacturer’s default settings, so I can get an idea of the clean sound coming from the device.

With some earbuds, this results in an experience that’s not nearly up to my standards. However, in the case of the Denon PerL Pro earbuds, the manufacturer has nailed it. Once I connected it to my Pixel Pro 8 (which was just a matter of taking it out of the box and walking through the auto-connect prompt on the phone), I inserted it, opened Spotify, and played my default song for Testing Such Devices… Rush Tom Sawyer.

If you had been watching me, you would have immediately seen the huge smile that spread across my face. I finally found a pair of earbuds that made me a believer again. It took all four tracks to impress me. But, of course, I let one of the greatest rock songs ever written continue, and by the time it was over, I was sold.

The Denon PerL Pro earbuds are truly a work of art. The sound is accurate, lively, spacious and hits all the right notes. The bass is perfect, the midrange is precise yet sharp, and the highs are amazing. What’s really remarkable about these earbuds is that you don’t have to use an app to customize the sound, because This is good Out of the box.

And while you won’t find the PerL Pro’s bass as thunderous as some competitors, it is cleaner and more precise. Out of the box, the equalizer on these earbuds adjusted instantly for every type of music I tried (rock, metal, classical, choral, 80s rock, shoegaze, pop). In some cases (as with Rush’s cartoon album, the sound was so clear and light that I was sure it was coming from my turntable.

ZDNET Buying Advice

These have not only raised the bar for earphones, they have also set the standard, and every earphone or headphone I use will have to stand up to what the Denon PerL Pro earphones have to offer.

It really comes down to this: If you have the money and are looking for sound that wouldn’t be possible with an earphone, then Denon pearl pro headphones They are the ones who buy. Forget anything Apple or Google has to offer, and do your ears (and your soul) a favor with a pair of earbuds that will blow your brain’s sound off the charts.
